Tour Description

Tour Description

This tour is the best way to know the city.

As the first visit is perfect, especially when the visitor wants to make the most of the time in Florence and discover the atmosphere that makes it so special.

But not only because it is ideal also for anyone who has already been to Florence, but wants to remember the charm of its corners, its squares and streets.

During the Walking tour we will visit the Accademia where to admire the wonderful and unique sculpture by Michelangelo: the David. This will be a beautiful moment: the power and the intensity of this overwhelming masterpiece that became the symbol of its era, the Reinassence and Florence transforming a “piece of marble” into a legend.

WHICH SITES DO WE VISIT IN THIS FORENCE WALKING TOUR?

As in our Classic Walking tour, this visit will cover the main sites such us  the Quartiere di San Giovanni, the oldest part of the city, with the Duomo, our local cathedral, surmounted by the astonishing Brunelleschi’s Dome; the octagonal Baptistery named after St. John and world-wide known for its golden Gate of Paradise; the Piazza Repubblica, former Ghetto of the city; the Orsanmichele church, a hidden gem of art and business; the Piazza Signoria, the icon of italian piazzas, an impressive open air museum; the Ponte Vecchio, undoubtedly the symbol of the city and the most expensive “meat market” of the world. And some other unforgettable spots of the city.

Finally, strolling through the streets we’ll reach the Accademia Gallery, the museum where the David, the great masterpiece by Michelangelo, is kept.

This museum is visited every day by hundreds of people who come here to contemplate and get excited in front of the giant stone shepherd, symbol of Florence and the art of its creator. Our guides are experts in art history and know the stories that surround the sculpture and Michelangelo, lets jump back on time with them!
